Biography
Born Janina Suero on December 10, 1987 in Queens, New York, DJ Starline has always seen music as a means of expression. Spending 13 years of her life in New York, before moving to Florida, she spent weekends with her cousins observing the music culture. From Saturday mornings watching Soul Train to listening to trance on KTU late at night on the weekends, music has always been Starline's nature. Being of Hispanic decent, Starline has also tapped into Latin music at family parties and get-togethers.
Moving to Florida in 2001 did not stop Starline's passion for music, as she be friended New Yorkers in the same situation. Beat boxing, freestyling, and table beating were some of the things that took place during lunch-time with her new found niche in high school. She began taking out mix CD's for friends as she continued her drive for musical expression. In 2003, Starline became interested in the art of DJing, but it was in 2006, after seeing a web video of DJ AM on the turntables, that she decided to pursue a serious career in DJing. She attended the Scratch DJ Academy, based in South Beach, that same year.
After acquiring her new skills and techniques, this lead to her releasing her first mixtape in 2006, Expensive Taste: The Mixtape. She has also performed at local spots as well as private parties in Tampa, FL. She has had mixshows on internet stations Livelihood Radio and IHU Radio and currently on Worldwide Alpha Communications Network (WWACN) with her Billboard Top 40 with DJ Starline. DJ groups have noticed Starlines style of work and is now affiliated with Bad Boy records official DJs, Fleet DJs, and the Clutch DJ Network.
Now residing in Tampa, FL and a graduate from the International Academy of Design and Technology as an audio and video professional, Starline is still working hard to get her name out to the public. She plans to release other mixtapes with hosting artists and other DJs she is collaborating with in the near future. Music has always been her first love and passion, so theres no stopping now.
